Life and success are filled with transitions. As Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor moves on with her gubernatorial campaign, and Jillian Froment steps in as the new Director of the Department of Insurance, it is a good time to thank them both for their dedication and support of the IIRC and its mission. We appreciate their efforts to fill the talent pipeline to ensure the continued growth of the insurance industry and its crucial contributions to Ohio’s economy. It is also a good time to step back and view what we have built.
We’ve built a foundation for our talent pipeline. As Lt. Gov. Taylor put it, “When we started our work (as the Insuring Ohio Futures initiative), Ohio didn’t have one insurance program at any of our colleges and universities and now we have 10.”
We’ve built a pathway for great careers. Javier Ibarra, who recently spoke with Clark State Community College students considering career choices, noted that working in insurance (at Grange) “has opened my pathway to advance and be what I want to be.”
We’ve built a coalition that is unique in the nation – one that has enjoyed the strong support of Lt. Gov. Taylor. We thank her for her support and contributions, and we welcome our current partner and new Director Jillian Froment. Here’s to a great transition and continued success.
